29er GP3 HISC 2022
Hayling Island Sailing Club
29th - 30th October 2022
Social
Our Saturday night social at GP3 will be dinner, followed by a casino night. The cost is £15 per head, to include dinner and your casino chips. Games will include classics such as roulette, poker and blackjack and perhaps some less conventional games, not so frequently played by the high rollers in Monaco!
All sailors will once again be given a buddy group at registration, so that the more experienced sailors can help less experienced sailors in the dinghy park. These buddy groups will also be the basis for the casino teams.
Parents and supporters are welcome!
Timings will be approximately:
- Dinner from 6.30pm
- Casino from 8.00-9.15pm
Dinner will be a choice of chicken curry, chilli con carne or vegetarian curry, followed by a choice of deserts. Please specify if you want the vegetarian option.
Volunteers
We are still looking for volunteers to help out with registration, tally and beach. If you are available to help please send an email to [email protected]
Online entry is now closed. Please contact [email protected] if you wish to enter.

Aimed at those who have just moved into the 29er and would like support for on and off the water. The support will involve a briefing before racing to help you with set-up and answer any questions. The coach will walk around the boat park and be on hand to help check settings and kites. They can also help introduce you to any of the older sailors who are really helpful but might be a bit daunting to ask. On the water, they can take a food bag (but so can other ribs) and be available for a quick chat in between races with any helpful coaching tips. After sailing, there will be a quick chat as a group or individually to make sure you are ready for the next day. The idea is to make you feel happy and confident for your first few GPs.
The coach isn’t there for safety or to make the decision on whether you should sail - that decision still comes down to the sailor.
Any questions on whether this applies to you or whether you are ready for a GP, please email our class coach Alice at [email protected]
Currently, there are 8 places available but if Transition Support is full please email our class coach Alice at [email protected] . Then if there is sufficient demand we will try to make extra places available.
